About Andrea MacScott

My life as a photographer started when my grandmother gave me my first film camera when I was 12 years old.  I was enthralled by the ability to capturing what my eyes saw. The thought of capturing a memory and sharing it with my family encouraged me to continue to learn and to be a better photographer.

Since then, everywhere I went there was a camera around my wrist and the framing of images was in my eyes. And those early images that I took with my Grandma’s camera, they are among my most precious for they represent more than the images, they represent the beginning of something special.

I have subsequently studied landscape and portrait photography in North and South America. Most recently my photography was appreciated when I submitted photos for a calendar in hopes that I would gain the prestige of garnering a month. To my surprise, they bought up the rights to all my submitted photos and used them exclusively for the whole calendar.

Most of my work is not for publication, but for appreciation.  My true passion for photography comes from capturing the love of family and the inner light of individuals. My love of family inspires me to preserve their memories so that future generations can share in the life that has shown us so much happiness and love.

I am a wife, big sister, aunt, daughter and a friend. I love French cuisine, wine, flamenco, art, and traveling!
My perfect day would be to find all these things together and share it with my husband and of course, preserve the day with any of my Canon cameras. My studio is in the beautiful Catskill State Park and our home is in Long Island but work brings me all over the East Coast as well as my childhood home - Ecuador.

Thank you for considering me to be your photographer.
